A setup technique pulling the opponent's arm across to take an angle.
The arm drag grips the opponent's wrist and tricep, pulling their arm across their body while you circle to their back. It's a setup more than a finish — the arm drag creates the angle for back takes, single legs, and other attacks. From standing, seated guard, or butterfly guard, the arm drag is one of the most efficient movements in grappling. It works at all levels and in every ruleset because it uses timing and redirection rather than brute force.
