Interactive 3D Preview — drag to orbit

About this position

A dominant top position over the opponent’s torso with major submission pressure.

Primary goals

  • Maintain balance and pressure
  • Force defensive reactions
  • Attack submissions
  • Transition to back control when the opponent turns

Common entries

  • Sweeping from guard
  • Climbing from side control
  • Advancing after the opponent frames poorly

Common mistakes

  • Sitting too high without control
  • Overcommitting arms and getting bridged
  • Attacking before stabilizing the position

Gi / No-Gi: Mount is powerful in both formats, but maintaining sticky control is even more important in no-gi where friction is lower.
