A shoulder lock applied by trapping the arm with your legs and rotating your body.
The omoplata uses your legs to isolate your opponent's arm and applies a rotational shoulder lock as you sit up and lean forward. From guard, you swing your leg over their shoulder, control their hips to prevent the roll escape, and torque their shoulder by driving forward. Even when the submission is defended, the omoplata leads to sweeps and back takes, making it a critical technique in the guard player's arsenal.
